We have been blessed with perfect weather for the past few weekends. Not surprisingly, we have taken full advantage by doing lots of fun outdoor activities with the family. Here are some of the pictures from our recent excursions...
First, we went to a Washington Nationals game in their brand new stadium. We saw them get beaten pretty handily by the Braves, but we still had a great time. Alyssa and her cousin, Coriel, were really into the game (and the food) while Travis entertained himself by playing with the stadium seats.

Our next big adventure was Mount Vernon, the home of George Washington. I hadn't been there in a while so we decided to go and do the tourist thing. It was really a lot of fun. The kids had a great time running around and checking everything out. The girls were also really interested in hearing stories about President Washington. We had gone to the library the day before and read a few picture books about him, so they had a little background and wanted to learn more. We were lucky enough to see a whole bunch of brand new baby goats on the day we went. Petting the goats was Travis's favorite part of the trip.

Finally, last weekend we decided to visit Kidwell farm, a working farm near us that had a special baby animal day where they invited the community to come see and pet the new animals. Alyssa, an animal fanatic, was in heaven. She loved everything, but her favorite activity was getting to pet the horses. Travis was a little shy about petting the animals, but did not hesitate to make the appropriate animal sound when he saw an animal he recognized.
